Retreat Manager
Overview
The Retreat Manager is responsible for the logistics during scheduled CIMC retreats, for supporting the teachers and yogis who attend, and for ensuring the retreat runs smoothly.
Skills, Experience, and Qualities
- Membership at CIMC
- Practicing Vipassana at CIMC for at least 3 years
- Has attended a CIMC retreat
- A regular meditation practice
- Reliable, clear communicator, friendly, organized, good coordination skills, has ability to be unobtrusive, enjoys helping others, good problem-solver
Responsibilities
- Arrive 45 minutes before the start of the program to unlock doors and welcome early arrivals
- Set up and complete check-in and registration tasks
- Assign yogis their “yogi jobs”
- Give the Retreat Manager’s talk
- Be available to provide support to the teachers and yogis throughout each day
- Clean up as needed and close the Center at end of day
Time Committment
- One-year commitment (renewable)
- 2-4 retreat days per year, 9.5-12.5 hours per retreat day. Usually weekends from 9:15am-5:45pm or 9:15am-8:45pm.
Notes
This role is eligible for work exchange of up to 13 hours (Equal to the number of hours of the retreat plus an additional two hours for opening and closing.)
