Equanimity is the cultivation of a balanced heart in the midst of change. The Buddha described the ways we are pushed around by the conditions in life as the teaching of the Eight Worldly Winds. These “winds” include praise and blame, gain and loss, pleasure and pain, and fame and disrepute. Equanimity makes it possible to respond to our ever-changing experiences with less reactivity and with greater wisdom and compassion.
This daylong retreat will be an exploration of what it means to cultivate equanimity in our lives. Our time together will include sitting and walking meditation, talks, and time for questions and discussion. There will be optional small groups to foster peer support.
This program is appropriate for both new and experienced meditators. Everyone is welcome.
This program will not be recorded. Full and partial scholarships are available up to 72 hours before the start of the program.
