This program will be hosted both in-person and online (hybrid). This is the registration page to join Chas DiCapua in person at our Center in Cambridge. (Register here if you prefer to attend online.)
In-person space is limited. Registration will close at 12:00 pm on Friday, March 14th. Walk-in registrations will not be available. A vegetarian lunch will be provided.
All the meditation techniques found in Early Buddhist practice have at their core relaxation and letting go. Relaxing both body and mind, we undermine the tendency to bring an attitude of meditating for results to our practice. From this place of relaxation, we bring attention to whatever arises in our experience, letting go of any clinging that is noticed.
In this way we make our formal practice extremely simple. We just continue to relax the body and notice any clinging that arises. Relaxing the grip of the mind, we settle back into a more peaceful and spacious relationship to the present moment. In this way, relaxation is the foundation, the mediation with experience, and the result of the practice.
This program is appropriate for both new and experienced meditators. All are warmly welcome. Our time together will include sitting meditation with instructions, talks, and time for discussion and questions.
Full and partial scholarships are available. Please submit your requests to office@cambridgeinsight.org at least 72 hours prior to the start of the program.
NOTE: At check-in, participants will be asked to volunteer for a short period of mindful service during the retreat—a "yogi job." Yogi jobs enable the smooth running of the retreat and offer an opportunity to practice alongside other retreat participants.
