In an annual tradition at CIMC, Narayan will offer the Three Refuges of the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha as well as the Five Precepts of non-harmful action. Taking the precepts for the first time or one of many times, in community with others, can be an essential and nourishing way to reenergize one’s commitment to the Dharma, and to a life aligned with wisdom, compassion and harmony.
Narayan will share an understanding of what the Refuges and Precepts mean. Then, everyone will be offered the opportunity to take the Five Precepts during a short ceremony. There is no obligation or pressure to participate in the ceremony; it is fine to come and just listen to the talk and hear the teachings. There is merit in all of this, whatever you choose.
We hope you will join us for this special CIMC offering.
