Finding refuge means discovering an inner peace undisturbed by conditions, circumstances, and time. It means finding a place to rest. The Buddha said, “Find for yourself an island which no flood can overwhelm.” This island is within our very own hearts. To find refuge means to trust our intrinsic peacefulness. It means to trust the truth and the teachings of the Buddha that hold meaning and benefit. It also means to belong, to feel oneself part of a spiritual community.
Throughout our day together, we will form a spiritual community that will allow us to delve more deeply into the timeless teachings of the Buddha. Finding refuge within makes it possible to be a true refuge for others. Our time together will include sitting meditation with instructions, talks, and time for discussion and questions.
This program is appropriate for both new and experienced meditators. Everyone is welcome.
Full and partial scholarships are available up to 72 hours before the start of the program. This program will not be recorded.
