This program will be hosted both in-person and online (hybrid). This is the registration page to join Chris Willard in person at our Center in Cambridge. (Register here if you prefer to attend online.)
Many of us in recovery struggle with finding compassion for ourselves and our behaviors, and the damage we caused in the service of our addiction. In this afternoon workshop we will deepen our practice of compassion toward ourselves and others and explore the causes and conditions of the positive emotions we deserve despite our past struggles.
On both the Buddhist and Recovery paths, the invitation is to wake up, to live more in the present – one day at a time – rather than living in the past or in the future. When we cultivate self-compassion in this practice, we may find it easier to free ourselves from old ideas, patterns, behaviors and identities that keep us stuck in addiction.
Anyone struggling with addictive or compulsive behaviors and substances is welcome, including those who love and care for them. We will come together in community to deepen our practice and healing. The afternoon will include guided meditation, reflection exercises, sharing and discussion.
Full and partial scholarships are available. Please submit your requests to office@cambridgeinsight.org at least 72 hours prior to the start of the program.
On Saturday, January 25th, Chris Willard will offer another afternoon workshop to support your recovery: Mindfulness and Recovery: The Buddhist Path of Inner Freedom. We invite you to join us at CIMC or online for either or both of these programs.
