As summer turns towards autumn, this retreat offers a chance to renew and refresh our practice together. This time of return can present a range of activity, emotion, transition, and change.
Together we will explore skillful means for practicing not only for when we feel settled, ease, and equanimity – but also for when there is restlessness, distractedness and reactivity in our experience.
When Zen master Dogen said that enlightenment was “being intimate with all things”, he was directing us to how we should meditate. That is, there are no distractions. We don’t prioritize one experience over another. We can learn to treat all experiences as opportunities for the cultivation of wisdom and compassion, coming to a place where our relationship to all of it is onward leading.
This program is appropriate for both new and experienced meditators. All are warmly welcome. Our time together will include sitting meditation with instructions, talks, and time for discussion and questions.
Full and partial scholarships are available up to 72 hours before the start of the programFull and partial scholarships are available. Please submit your requests to office@cambridgeinsight.org at least 72 hours prior to the start of the program.
NOTE: At check-in, participants will be asked to volunteer for a short period of mindful service during the retreat—a "yogi job." Yogi jobs enable the smooth running of the retreat and offer an opportunity to practice alongside other retreat participants.
