How are we to live? These profound teachings of the Buddha -- the Four Noble Truths --provide us with all that is necessary for understanding Dharma and awakening. These truths reveal the proper way to take care of suffering as the path to true happiness and liberation from inner bondage. They provide us with a guide to living.
What are the Four Noble Truths?
1. There is suffering;
2. There is a cause of suffering;
3. There is an end of suffering;
4. There is a path out of suffering: The Eightfold Noble Path.
There is conceptual understanding of these truths. Then there is putting them into practice and experiencing the results. The emphasis of our work together will be to bring these teachings to life through the practice of vipassana meditation, the clear, direct seeing of what is. This approach has been of immense benefit to me. I hope it will be for you!
We will begin each class with 30 minutes of silent meditation practice. There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion in our shared exploration. This program is open to anyone who has at least two years of meditation practice.
