|The earliest comprehensive meditation teaching we have from the Buddha is found in the Anapanasati Sutta, or Full Awareness with Breathing Sutta. These instructions represent an elegant streamlining of the more lengthy Four Foundations of Mindfulness Sutta. The “Condensed Method” further refines and simplifies this powerful approach to liberation into three clear, comprehensive steps for working with mind, body and daily living. This method is especially suited for our often busy and demanding modern lives.
This six-week course will fully introduce the “Condensed Method” to those relatively new to vipassana practice and will offer an opportunity for more experienced meditators to further deepen their understanding and practice. The basic requirement is a commitment to daily practice. Each session will include instruction, sitting and walking practice as well as the opportunity to discuss both the practice and the directed readings.
